11 of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the [a]oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are [b]of full age, that is, those who by reason of [c]use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:11-14 NKJV)
I write often about the need for the faithful to read the scriptures and pray so that they might stay grounded and also grow in their faith. However, I find that many of the faithful are only Sunday members. Throughout the week they are far too busy to dedicate time to God.
So, I must ask you, what are you doing with your time?
…and many have a good answer.
They are busy at work. Their families demand their time. They are active in many after hours activities. They are online. They are scrolling on their phones. They are watching TV. You see, when we are honest about our time the answers begin well but tend to break down into what we are really doing with our time. While it is the most precious commodity we have, when we really look at what we do with it the answers begin well but taper into the obscure. The problem is that we are not typically honest with our answers.
Reflect on: What you REALLY do with your time. Can you tell me that you cannot truly dedicate a hour of your day to your growth in God?
