23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23 ESV)
We all go through periods where life is just running us down. The world and the enemy seem to be conspiring against us and it can seem no matter what we do or how much we pray, things are just tough. People like to say, “it is what it is” as a passing trope … to make us feel … better?
What if I told you “it is what it isn’t.” You see, we begin to create a narrative that supports what we believe at any given time. Often this narrative is based on bad information or temporary circumstances, but we build the narrative none the less. It is what it is.
But our scripture tells us a different narrative. It is what it isn’t. God tells us we need to hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering. He (God) who promised is faithful. You see, what we see is very limited and is often not what it is but what it isn’t. We are letting the enemy set up a negative narrative and forgetting Gods eternal positive promise, which is where our narrative should remain based.
Reflect on: Who’s story are you listening to, yours (egged on by the world and the enemy) or God’ so you can remain confident.
