We put a huge emphasis upon being in the lead. To strive to be above the crowd, to be first, never second.

However, how much more important is it but to serve? Those who, though our lives, we tend to hold in most esteem are those who portrayed a servants attitude. This is not to say that we do not also look up to great leaders. Christ was both leader and servant. When these two things come hand in hand, it is then that we encounter the best in others and in ourselves.
