⁵ This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. ⁶ If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. ⁷ But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:5-7 NKJV)

We were not made to stumble along in darkness. Whether that be practically, the need for light to move around in the dark; or spiritually, the need to have Christ in our lives to shine a light on the darkness of our soul and the world around us.

When we commune with the Spirit throughout the day, heeding His guidance in our lives, we will naturally be lead to the paths of light. The Spirit will never lead us into the dark paths of sin, only our nature and the enemy can do that and they are both well attuned to it naturally. This is why we are given the Spirit when we come to belief in Christ. God knows that we need a helper to keep us from the dark paths of sin.

God has great plans for our lives, but we need to align ourselves with Him an daisy close to Him in every way possible.
