God’s Handiwork

1 The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above[a] proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge. (Psalm 19:1-2 ESV)

I had to travel for business this week. My travel took me to a part of the country that is quite beautiful. Living in the city and only seeing a tiny portion of the world around us can make us a bit blind to the glory of God that exist all around us.

When we take time to slow down and get beyond the confines of where we live out our lives we can see more of God’s creation. Even if you happen to live in a very beautiful place you can become desensitized to the natural beauty. We need to open our eyes and expand our senses to God’s handiwork.

I do not think you have to go far to be able to see God well. In fact it could be that you only need to take the time to look up and revel in the beauty of His heavens. I recently told a very stressed employee to go outside for a little bit and just soak up some sun. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot going on. That person just needed to be reminded that there is so much more in this world we live in and take a moment to realize it.
