Even Before

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 ESV)

Even before we came to Christ, God loved us.

That is hard to believe but it is true. And God showed this love in sending Christ to be the sacrifice for us to save us from our sin once and for all.

So if you are doing works for God that is good. Just know that none of them are good enough to get you into heaven. It is only through Christ redeeming blood that we can be saved. No work is good enough, not faith strong enough if we are unwilling to accept Christ as God’s son, who lived and died for us.

So the words “even before” should take on greater meaning for us. Because they are the halcyon call to us that God loves us and is waiting patiently on us to turn to Him and believe. These two words should also make us work harder if we are believers to do as much as we can during the time we have left. We were not only saved, but we have been commissioned to take the Gospel to everyone on the earth.
