What We Do

For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 ESV)

What we do conveys more about who we are than what we say. In fact we can often talk a good game, but when it comes down to playing it we are far less capable.

I have been a student of body language throughout my life. People do not realize how much they convey in facial expressions and how they hold themselves. Many a time I have heard a person telling me something with great conviction, but how they look and act conveys just the opposite.

I believe that our actions very definitely speak louder than our words when it comes to the Christian faith. It makes little difference if I can speak eloquently on the scriptures if I am not following them in my actions. People will see through what we say by what we do very quickly.

As we go about our day we must be diligent to act and speak as one in Christ. We must follow the scriptures and lead a life that exemplifies the faith we attest to so that we do not create any stumbling block for another.
