Patience and Forbearance

Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? (Romans 2:4 ESV)

We should all be so grateful for God’s kindness, forbearance and patience. He does not tolerate our sin, but He desires that we move toward repentance and as such He is patient with us. But time will run out for all of mankind.

God desires even the most wayward sinner come to loving acceptance of His son. He desires a deep, personal relationship with all of us. We may see God the Father as some strict disciplinarian, but if this were true we would all be crushed under His righteous wrath. No, through His Son, we gained His kindness and patience. He desires that we turn from our ways and come to a knowledge of living a righteous life.

We need to take a close look at our lives and consider what parts of it God is being patient about, showing us forbearance and we need to repent and turn from those sinful ways.

We all have those things that we hold out from God. But our God is a god of everything. If He numbers the hairs on your head how can He not be considerate of all aspects of our lives.
