Comfort

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ESV)

The Lord’s comfort is not just for us, but is meant as something that we pass on to others. Yes, God does seek to comfort us in our times of distress but we are meant to also be a comfort to others.

If we only look inwardly when we think about things of the soul we are missing a large part of what God has for us to do on this earth. God does desire a close and personal relationship with each and every one of us. But that relationship has not yet formed with some who are within our sphere of influence. Thus, we must be continually looking outwardly as we seek God inwardly so that we do not miss divine appointments He has planned for us.

We are meant to pass along our comfort even as we are comforted by it.
