5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:5-6 ESV)
Do you get your prayers answered? Do you see God working in your life? If not, you may want to ask yourself if you are truly aligned with God or if you are doubting He will come through in the first place.
I believe this scripture is so spot on. I do not think we really believe that God will do what we ask Him to do. We are like the waves in the ocean, tossed by the wind. Or, we pray and then we go about doing it for Him. We act upon our will and do not wait to see how God will answer us.
The gap between our understanding and God’s actions is often so wide that we cannot easily understand what is happening. We look at everything through a human lens and do not wait expectantly to see just what the Father will do.
Reflect on: The gap between your understanding and God’s actions.
