All Things

32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32 ESV)

Do you truly believe that God will graciously give us all things? Really consider that question now. All things?

No, most of us do not believe this. Because we have asked for something we felt like we needed badly at some point and did not get it. Maybe right now you are waiting for God to take care of an illness, or open a path to a job, provide your financial needs. But those things are not happening as quickly as you would like.

You see, we have become accustomed to living in a world where everything can be instantaneous. We rarely have to wait for anything. Instant gratification is the rule we live by.

But our Father in heaven does not work on the instant gratification principle. No, He works in His time and He does give freely. But has He not already given us all things when He gave us salvation? Yes, God wants the best for us all. But His best and our best are so very distantly apart.
