1 The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour out speech;
night after night they communicate knowledge.[a]
3 There is no speech; there are no words;
their voice is not heard.
Implicit knowledge or Tacit knowledge — as opposed to formal, codified or explicit knowledge—is knowledgethat is difficult to express or extract, and thus more difficult to transfer to others by means of writing it down or verbalizing it. (Wikipedia)
The heavens declare an implicit knowledge of God, but many do not recognize it. Jesus replied, “I tell you, . . . if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out” (Luke 19:40).
Nature itself speaks day after day, night after night communicating the knowledge of God, but not a word is spoken, not a voice heard. Yet, with nature crying out and our very bones vibrating with God’s love and glory, many simply do not try to listen.
I may seem desperate at times, trying to get God’s message out. Possibly only those who already listen read these lines. I truly hope not. I wish for these words, God’s Word, to reach others who have not heard. I wish, desperately, for those to look about themselves in nature and hear the stones crying out the glory of God.
The implicit knowledge of God is all around us and within us. It speaks to us in ways we may not recognize, unless, we take a moment to open ourselves to what it is saying and simply listen. Much is written, but much more is spoken upon the winds of nature and within our bones.
