It is so very easy to give into the world. We are fallen creatures living in a fallen world and every aspect of who we are leads us to temptation…save one.

The Spirit that lives within.

While our salvation is set, only the Spirit living within us creates anything holy or righteousness within us. And our sinful nature is continually fighting against that Spirit.

But the Spirit is strong and if we will let it, it will guide us to the right path.

But this does not come without much preparation through scripture, much prayer to God and much effort on our parts. It does not come naturally because our natural state is one of sinful man. But God gives us an out if we will but take it.

Thus, another good New Year’s resolution is to consult the Spirit often. In doing so we will find that we get steered toward God’s course and not our own. We are provided insight and discernment so that we can make right choices and live right lives.

We do not have to allow our human nature and a fallen world to guide us when what lives within is the divine spark.
