3 So everyone went to be registered, each to his own town.
4 Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem,because he was of the house and family line of David, (Luke 2:3-4 CSB)
There was a lot going on for Mary and Joseph, and the census was probably the last thing on their minds. Yet, it was decreed that every family had to travel to their families main town to register. So the trip, even with Mary very pregnant, had to be taken.
But God was using every little thing to bring about the prophecies around the coming of His son. Maybe I give Mary and Joseph to little credit. They probably knew the prophecies around Jesus’ birth. But were they thinking about this in their current circumstances that were difficult to say the least.
You see, even when we are going about doing our daily business, God is laying the foundation for the rest of our lives. He is paving ways for us to move forward and to fulfill His plan for His kingdom through our lives.
Maybe today you are reading this and it is dawning on you just how much God’s hand has been on your life. Maybe you are looking back and seeing how He spared you and lead you to His saving grace. And now He is charting your path forward.
God uses even the little things in life to fulfill His plan.
