39 They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company, and Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed off to Cyprus. (Acts 15:39 CSB)
We may not always see eye to eye with others. Even the disciples were not immune to disagreement. Thus, we should not be surprised that even in ministry we may disagree even to the point of parting company.
However, this should not be our first course of action. Nor should it be in your job as well, or your relationships. Disagreements happen. People get sideways. Conflict is, somewhat, inevitable. And least of all we must remember our enemy constantly sows discord.
I have never had an issue with conflict and have always sought to keep any disagreement clinical and professional, never personal. But even then we can tend toward disagreement causing discord. We can, as they say, agree to disagree without it becoming nasty.
In fact, working to always be the first to compromise or at least find some middle ground serves us better. We do not always have to be the wall waves break against. I hate to break it to you, but you are not always right. Nor are you always just in your stance. This too you should take before God before setting your heels in place. It very well could be that God is calling you to point and to apology.
We can disagree without being disagreeable.
