32 “Now concerning that day or hour no one knows—neither the angels in heaven nor the Son —but only the Father. (Mark 13:32 CSB)
We are an impatient people. But our society has made us this way. Everything is instantanious. Fast food, fast internet, fast medical care, fast, fast, fast…
But there are some things that only the Father knows the timing.
Our scripture is referring to the second coming, but there are many other things in our lives that only God knows when they will occure.
And we are not good with lengthy anticipation.
I was speaking to a colleague the other day and talking about how time flows thorugh our fingers like water. He was lamenting not having enough time for his family around work requirements. I told him, we always make time for what is important. When you stop and think deeply about this it can be a sobering thought.
We anticipate spending time with our loved ones, but we dedicate more time to our work or other things. It is a prioritization issue.
But you may say, ”this is what is required of me.”
I would ask who decides this?
