37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:37 CSB)
What does it truly mean to be a conqueror? And how in the context of Christ can we be more than conquerors.
You see, typically, when we are considered conquerors there can be a negative connotation. This because of the many thing throughout history conquerors have done to the conquered. However, this is not talking about our treatment of others, but more about our treatment of ourselves.
We are made more than conquerors through Him who loved us because He loved us. So that through Him we have received forgiveness and not just a new lease on life but a lease upon heaven and eternity itself. How can we then not consider ourselves conquerors!
Through Christ love and His death all these things have been accounted to us so that we are made righteous. In doing so we not only capable of conquering sin but death itself.
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?“
Thus, our scripture says, ”in all these things.”
