Past Actions

27 “But the one who was mistreating his neighbor pushed Moses aside, saying: Who appointed you a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Do you want to kill me, the same way you killed the Egyptian yesterday? (Acts 7:27-28 CSB)

Sometimes our past actions have present implications. This will especially be true for the Christian as the world is watching every stumble we make. You can bet these things will see the light of day again if given half a chance. Our enemy seeks to discredit us at every turn.

Also, our actions and our motives are rarely as hidden as we might think. People are pretty astute and can often see through us more than we know. Thus, this is why our faith walk must be as free as possible from our fallible nature. We are not perfect and cannot be. However, our struggle to be better needs to be a daily cross we bear. When it is not we fall more readily into sin.

When our past actions are called into question we must not lie nor try to hide. We must face the facts of what we have done and use the situation to show others that, yes we failed, but we are a work in progress. Giving glory to God.
