27 “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful. (John 14:27 CSB)
On this Sunday, my prayer is for peace for each of you as you begin this next week. Peace that is not worldly but is so much deeper and meaningful. A peace that permeates our soul and resonates through our being. A peace that can only come from God.
And what are we to do with this peace, horde it for ourselves? No, we are to pass it along to others, displaying for them just what God is capable of in a life of faith.
From this peace we gain strength and a sense of security. From it we can open ourselves to others and show them the love that resonates in our lives from our God.
Peace we too often want to keep for ourselves. But it is a gift to be given to others and not held on to selfishly. We are given it so that we might touch others lives through it and through the Spirit that lives within us.
Pass peace along.
