An Outward Acknowledgment

32 “Therefore, everyone who will acknowledge me before others, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. (Matthew 10:32 CSB)

How outward and open are you about your viewpoint on political news, world affairs or things you feel passionate about?

We tend to hold on to some hot sports opinions on many topics, but when it comes to faith based things we shy away from the discussion.

My father was a “don’t talk about religion or politics, son” kinda guy. While he was never political, he was a man of faith. However, it was an inward faith.

I have always tried to carry my faith lightly but never shallowly. I have been quick to bring up matters of faith when the opportunity presented but not one to shove it in people’s faces.

In today’s very topically charged society it can be intimidating to speak of one’s faith, especially when it has come under such attack from so many. But we must not shy away from this. It is not to say we must stand on a platform and bible thump. However, we must be ready and willing to provide an answer for our belief.

More importantly, the platform we should stand upon is the one where our faith is evident in our every action. One where people can clearly see we are different and become curious as to why.
