39 Going a little farther,[a] he fell facedown and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” (Matthew 26:39 CSB)
Even Christ at his lowest moment called upon God to ask that what was happening might be taken away. Thus, our Risen Christ is no stranger to pain and suffering.
But in the end He focused upon what the Father’s will was and not his own.
This can be a supremely difficult for us mere humans.
Know that even in the midst of our most difficult times that the Father is with us, but we are to be instruments of His will.
When we sign up to be believers, we sign up for what ever life brings at us at the Fathers will. This can be very hard for people to grasp and even harder for us to accept. We want to think that Christianity is a ticket to the good life. And it is. It is a ticket to the good, eternal life. But before we get there we may have to deal with a lot down here.
Accepting the Father’s will for our lives may not improve them immediately. But our time here compared to eternity is but a breath.
