15 Call on me in a day of trouble;
I will rescue you, and you will honor me.” (Psalm 50:15 CSB)
I have written frequently on how God helps us in our times of trouble.
But, in what ways do we honor God in both how we handle these times and the outcomes?
As we are making our way through troubled times we honor God by how we respond. There is an old saying, “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” We must ask ourselves, do people see the grace and peace of God in us when we are facing trouble, or do they just see our frustration and bitterness?
Then, once we have made it to the other side of trouble how do we react? Do we talk about how we persevered and overcame our situation? Or do we openly thank God to those around us for bringing us through the difficulty? Do we give God all the glory for our deliverance and talk excitedly about how He held our hands through every moment?
Or do we just move on as if today is another day and yesterday is no more.
If we do not mark God’s providence in our lives by how we live and by giving Him the glory then we are missing the true blessings of faith.
