6 In the morning sow your seed,
and at evening do not let your hand rest,
because you don’t know which will succeed,
whether one or the other,
or if both of them will be equally good. (Ecclesiastes 11:6 CSB)
There are many ways to go about building success in life. However, especially today, a singular path may not be the best path.
Much like in business we should diversify what we are capable of doing, for we do not know what life holds and what is successful today may not be tomorrow.
I think this is best begun when one is young, but it can be fostered throughout life. In the last hand full of years I have done numerous things. Furthermore, I foster both a professional and a vocational life. God has seen fit to provide me with multiple skills that I try to leverage continually allowing Him to grow the seed He see’s fit.
However, the one thing that I now try to never forget is that the seeds of success are just that. They are seeds that we may plant and water, but God sees to their growth. For far too long in my career I did not understand this. Now, as I continue to plant seeds I understand that “I don’t know which will succeed, whether one or the other, or if both of them will be equally good.”
What I do know, is God has my back and I continue to work like it all depends on me, but pray like it all depends on God. Which it does.
