7 Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:7-8 CSB)
God has always provide for my family. Through good times and bad, He has seen us through and has often done so in a manner I could not well explain.
I have never been overly tight fisted with what I have. I have always sought to be generous and to look upon others with mercy when and where I could.
I am probably most stingy with my time, and I seem to be getting more so as I get older and time is not a commodity I have to spare.
God wants us to be open and available to give of ourselves without reluctance or out of compulsion. This may come from our time, our treasure or our talent as I have said often. God can use all of it like the wealth each of these are to spend.
But we have to be prepared to give. When we are stingy and tight fisted with any of these we miss the blessings of God. Because it is true, you cannot out give God.
