Complete Undivided Attention

So I turned my attention to the Lord God to seek him by prayer and petitions, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. (Daniel 9:3 CSB)

How much do we pour into prayer and petition to God?

The answer should be everything.

But too often our answer is only our wants and needs.

We spend too little time praying praise to God for all He has done for us. For the fact that He has walked with us daily.

Elsewhere in scripture it says, “Be still and know that I am God.” This is a state of silent wonder and expectation regarding the being of God. Simply accepting Him for who He is and that He is forever there for us.

We, of course today, do not typically come forth with fasting, sackcloth and ashes. Maybe we should. Maybe this would put us in a better mental and spiritual state to come before God.

Regardless, there are two facets of our scripture that should be paramount; Turning our attention to the Lord and seeking Him in prayer. This means turning our whole attention to God, giving him our complete and undivided attention.
