20 …guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding irreverent and empty speech and contradictions from what is falsely called knowledge. 21 By professing it, some people have departed from the faith. (1 Timothy 6:20-21 CSB)
All that we have learned from reading scripture, being taught in church or learned from those versed in theology has been entrusted to us.
We have been given the gift of knowledge that has applicability here on earth but also has eternal value.
What has been entrusted to us, and what we have been given the understanding of by the Spirit, is to be used for the Kingdom. We each are given a spiritual gift and each gift comes with some special knowledge that is only for us. Even if our gift is something simple that others also do, we have been given it in such a way that is unique to us.
God waste nothing. He entrust us with special knowledge and prepares us to use it to bring forth His good and perfect will.
“But my gift is ministry to my family” you may say. Good, do not discount that what you are imparting to your children will not one day be used to win over another country. We must not limit our thinking to our finite world but the world at large and the God-sized plans He has in store.
Consider it great joy that you have been entrusted with this.
