⁴ For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.

Sometimes we just need a little encouragement.

Hopefully, we have a group of friends or family who can rally around us when we are down. However, sometimes we just have to face discouragement alone.

However, we are not ever fully alone. And scripture is also a source of encouragement.

I recently began praying the Psalms. In doing this I am trying to focus more upon how the message of each scripture, through prayer, might strengthen my life. When I am doubting I simply open my bible to a Psalm and begin to pray. This has helped open the messages in the Psalms to me more and provided a different form of prayer that I needed.

As we begin this day, I hope these words and this scripture have been an encouragement. Know that whenever you need them, the scriptures are here to open your heart and mind.
