10 They say to the seers, “Do not see,”
and to the prophets,
“Do not prophesy the truth to us.
Tell us flattering things.
Prophesy illusions. (Isaiah 30:10 CSB)
We often times would rather hear what we want to hear rather than the truth.
A hard message is never easy to hear. We would rather people coddle us and tell us comforting words. Yet, where in the flattery of lies can we find a true path. Where in illusions do we truly find peace?
Really, no where.
The truth can be hard to take, but within it there is healing and correction. But you may say, “what is truth.” Well, typically, it is in the harder path and not the simple way. It is in a hard word spoken honestly and in love.
When we open ourselves to the truth of God’s path and His scripture we can ultimately find peace and safety. It may take time, but within the time there is healing.
