My first grandchild was born last night just after midnight, putting his birthday and mine on the same day.

The Lord has truly put more joy in my heart this day.

I rarely make any fuss about my birthday, in fact I avoid the mention of it. However, now I have someone’s birthday to truly celebrate and in doing so I get the most joy out of my own.

God gives us these small moments of pure joy that we should enjoy and take full advantage of. This is what He meant it for, for our joy and our well being.

The world can be a crushing weight but we must not lose sight of the simple moments of like this.

I am tired this morning. Not as tired as my daughter and son in law, but tired as we did not get to sleep until very early (or late as it were) this morning. But it is a good tired, one tempered with and supported by this event of pure join in my life.
