15 Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise— 16 making the most of the time,[a]because the days are evil.
Make the most of the time you have.
This seems to most a call to do what ever we like. To live life to the fullest and to squeeze every drop from it.
Yes, that is exactly what it means! But maybe not in the way the world sees living your best life.
Living your best life has little to do with success or material wealth. When we are living our best life we are seen as a light unto the world. This not just from our faith life but also from the standpoint of our attitude and our concern for others. Truly, very often, living your best life is living a life for others. It means that our presence is a comfort to those around us.
Consider just how much greater, lasting impact you can have on the world through the compassion you show. Being the brightness in another person’s day can mean the difference between life and death. This may seem overstated but I fear in our day and time it is not. When so many suffer from depression and anxiety they are just searching for a light and a breath of fresh air.
Consider just how much you might impact those around you just by the lightness of your being.
The world needs it.
