A Spirit of Trust

17 So it is sin to know the good and yet not do it. (James 4:17 CSB)

For the most part, in general, I believe people know what is right and strive to do the right thing. I try to preserve my faith in humanity this way.

This means I opt to trust first which may seem foolish to many.

However, if we are to keep faith in humanity I think we must begin at the most basic stance that people generally try to do the right thing. If not we will be very untrusting and that is no way to go through life in my opinion.

Does this mean that people sometimes let me down? Sure it does. But not in such disproportionate numbers that I have begun to look at others in an untrusting manner.

I get that some have experienced a life that was rife with broken trust. But if we, living by Christ example, do not make a point to give trust another try are we not sinning in our stubbornness?

I am not advocating blind trust, only that we associate and put trust in those who God gives us a sense we can trust. The Spirit will lead us to knowing one from another.
