Yesterday I wrote about discernment. Today, I write about a different type of discernment, one that is reflective and looks inward.

We can often be blind to our own short comings and faults. This can be especially true when we are successful, wealthy or in positions of power. We only take our own counsel and may be blind to what others see in us.

Our view becomes deluded.

It is when we begin to believe how great we are that we most need to take a step back, lest we delude ourselves into thinking we are more than we are.
