Confess

10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. (Romans 10:10 CSB)

The word confess makes many people nervous. When we begin talking about confessions it can make people squirm in their seat. We all have those areas of our lives that we do not necessarily want displayed publicly. Or, maybe, we have a part of our nature that may be less than desirable that comes out in certain circumstances.

But today I am going to make you even more uncomfortable.

What about confessing your faith?

This can often make Christians even more uncomfortable than confessing a sin. Telling others about our faith should not be a fear inducing activity, but to many it is.

Yes, how we live our lives should be a testimony to our faith. But our words need to confess it just as much as our actions. We need to be openingly discussing faith matters with others.

These do not need to be forced conversations but should grow organically through our interactions. Furthermore, the Spirit will prompt us to open these discussions many times. We just have to be willing to talking about our faith and salvation.
