10 A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance. (John 10:10 CSB)

The theif is the enemy. He comes only to steal, kill and destroy.

But Christ came to defeat the thief and give us life abundant.

So why, when we know that the enemy is active in this world, do we so often give in to his ways? We allow the world to taint the beauty of what Christ died to help us overcome.

Because we are sinful creatures from birth, life is a constant battle of wills. We are constantly led astray and the continual droan of the world that seduces us away from our first love.

Only when we put Christ first and filter everything through scripture can we overcome the world. Doing so through Christ intercession we are given the strength to stand and face each day.

Only in Christ can we stand.
