4 Who are you to judge another’s household servant? Before his own Lord he stands or falls. And he will stand, because the Lord is able[a] to make him stand. (Romans 14:4 CSB)
Many today want to stand in judgment over others.
They want to take a perceived moral high ground or a political view or some other belief and lord it over another.
But we do not have that privilege. We were all made equal in the eyes of God and as such should not try to exert our own control over others.
This is not to say that we should sit idly by while others try to exert control over us either. Scripture does teach to turn the other cheek so that we do not immediately allow our anger to overcome us.
As the Scripture says, we stand or fall before the Lord. We may also stand or fall before those who have authority over us, in work or social justice situations. But ultimately, eternally, the Lord is the ultimate judge.
However, in all situation we can know that if we are with the Lord he is able to make us stand and stands by us.
