9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 CSB)

In writing these devotionals, I sometimes forget that aside from the general wisdom imparted, people still need to know the simple plan of salvation.

Faith is the cornerstone which comes from believing in our hearts that Jesus rose from the dead and we confess this with our mouth (tell others).

Belief and faith then put us under the great commission; to tell this good news to everyone across the world.

And why wouldn’t we!? What great news, and what a simple plan. Nothing we can do makes us good enough for a life in heaven. Only when we believe that Christ died for our sins do we open this door. And Christ stands at the door to our heart and knocks daily.

Once we let Him in we are assured of salvation, the Spirit enters and our lives are set for eternity.

For those who believe this is wonderful assurance.

For those who are yet to believe, it is the removal of the burden of being good enough.

Believe in your heart – confess with your mouth.
