33 But a Samaritan on his journey came up to him, and when he saw the man, he had compassion. 34 He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on olive oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. (Luke 10:33-34 CSB)
We are in a time when many are in need. However, how often we tend to simply look the other way because we have our own baggage to carry.
The parable of the Good Samaritan speaks to the fact that many will pass us by when we are in need. But those who take a little time to help us by tending to our wounds are doing God’s work on this earth.
Imagine if we extended this concept into our business dealings and ever other facet of our lives. How much better would we make others life’s.
This parable is not just meant for those who need physical attention, but all of those around us who are hurting emotionally, who have lost jobs, who have lost a spouse or family member, who are dealing with some form of mental anguish. Many need our attention and it can feel overwhelming. Especially if we happen to be in a time of pain.
But the best salve for our soul is to reach out and help another.
