Sound Thinking

13 Sound thinking makes for gracious living, but liars walk a rough road. (Proverbs 13:15)

We are assailed by ever form and manner of noise in our lives. I mean noise not only in the sense of sound but in the sense of every manner of idea, concept, marketing, you name it. It is a constant sensory overload which does not lead to sound thinking.

Only when we are able to break from everything, slow down, quiet down and really allow our minds to only open to silence can sound thinking emerge. Otherwise it gets buried under the daily onslaught of everyone else’s opinion and viewpoint.

God made us to be sound thinkers. To listen to the Spirit and discern the deeper meanings around us. But this can only happen when we take a moment to slow down and be quiet.
