16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 CSB)
When times seem bleak we must shine even more.
My father grew up during the Great Depression. Those were desperately hard times. We now face a time that my rival that time, and surely will for some. Yet, we must work our hardest to shine during these difficult times.
This is not to say we should put on a fake smile as if nothing were wrong. But that we must keep our hearts strong through the Spirit and shine upon others who may be facing this without the support of the Spirit. We must shine God’s light before others and help them see the way to the Father through our good works.
This may be as simple as being a listening ear to those who feel that they have no one in this life who cares.
Now is the time for God’s light to shine through our actions.
