Actions and Words

16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:

He[a] was manifested in the flesh,
    vindicated[b] by the Spirit,[c]
        seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
    believed on in the world,
taken up in glory. (1 Timothy 3:16 ESV)

The story of godliness is one that, as a Christian, we should be able to articulate without a second thought. It should be ingrained in us like our DNA, which, in reality it is. We then need to take that story and spread it, not keep it locked up inside. This is the Great Commission and is the responsibility of all believers. This is why it needs to be ingrained within us. Knowing how to articulate our faith as simply as our scripture today is one way. There are many others.

Many feel uncomfortable articulating their faith. It is not that they do not want to I do not believe, but one of not feeling like they have the words. This is why scripture gives us many examples of how to do so. This too is why we need to get comfortable not just living out our faith, but speaking when the opportunity exist. We need to work ourselves into a state where it is not uncomfortable.

Reflect on: The story you tell of your faith not just in actions, but in words.
