Realized

Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. (John 14:9 ESV)

The sad reality is that even though we have all seen the wonders of God all around us and have possibly studied the scriptures, we still may not realize who God is. Or maybe the better way to say this is that we know who God is but He is not being realized in our lives.

For us to realize God in our lives we have a few things that must happen. We must, of course, accept the saving grace of Christ sacrifice and acknowledge He is the Son of God. Second, we must accept the direction of the Holy Spirit who comes to live within us as our helper. Third, we must repent to the Father and show true contrition for the sin we committed and continue to commit. We need to live differently.

Too often our lives are such that we relegate God to Sundays, special holidays and a random prayer here and there. God has not become a central theme in our lives, He is only someone to call on in times of need.

If this is how you see God, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me?” God must be realized in our lives for our lives to be transformed by Him.
