An Active Part

47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” (Acts 13:47 ESV)

God has in salvation and within our faith given us a sacred trust. He can do anything on earth without our involvement, and yet He chose a method of reaching others through us. Our job is to show His love and bring His light to this dark world.

This is not a suggestion God made lightly to us, but as our scripture says, it is a command. Yes, some of this is to be just an outward display of God’s work in our lives, but it is also meant for us to take an active part.

This active part is where we need to be finding a path that provides us a vocation in Christ. We are actively using the gifts God has given us to further His kingdom. I write on this often because of the 80/20 rule. Meaning that, typically, this most important work on earth is only taken on by 20% of the faithful.

We must take up the banner and bring the light of Christ to all the world. That becomes very difficult when only 20% are doing it. We must all be taking an active part of this sacred trust.
