Healing & Refreshment

7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh[a]
    and refreshment[b] to your bones. (Proverbs 3:7-8 ESV)

Do you ever get just weary to your bones? I have, many times, and there is nothing better than a deep rest to bring the flesh back to life and wash away that bone weary feeling. But often, we may find ourselves going from weariness to weariness with little or no time for healing and refreshment.

I had a restless night with a persistent cough from my allergies. Thus, this morning I woke up weary. I still have a full day of work ahead and a relatively busy week. So I cannot let this weariness get me down. Coffee, a little scriptural study, prayer and a hearty breakfast should help. But I will look forward to sleep tonight.

We have times where we just have to go on, push through the weariness or the pain to meet our responsibilities. Do not forget God during these times. Pray for His refreshment and His healing to your weary bones. He will give us strength to go on.

Reflect on: How you deal with weariness and if you let God into it.
