2 but your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear. (Isaiah 59:2 ESV)
From the time of Adam and Eve we have been tainted. Sin entered the world through them and until we come to the saving grace of Christ we are tainted. Even afterward we will not live a life without sin, but we have a loving God who forgives us.
This, however, does not give us the right to just go do what we want. Our relationship with Christ should change us and make us want to do better. It should be marked by a change in our lives and a desire to live a life not only dedicated to Him but suffused with His grace and will.
But we are human and that humanness gets in the way more often than not and we continue to feel the taint of original sin. We continue to fail. But Christ forgiveness is always there.
Reflect on: What keeps coming up in your life and tainting your relationship with Christ and what you need to do to not allow it.
