22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.(Psalm 33:22 ESV)

I like the world “steadfast”. You do not hear it much today in our modern society. It is as if we have lost the need for things to be steadfast. But I would say that it is a word we need now more than ever.

In a world where few things are truly steadfast, God’s steadfast love is something we can continue to count on when all else fails us. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He will never change, and in an ever-changing world this can be a huge comfort and where our security resides.

We too should show a steadfastness in who we are. We want to be people that others can count on. People who show a steadfast devotion to God, to our relationships and to how we function in life. Becoming that person that others see, even if they do not use the word, as steadfast displays our Christian values for all to see.
