I Will Never Leave

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5 ESV)

Holy Saturday (Matthew 27:62-66, Mark 15:42-47, Luke 23:55-56, John 19:38-42): Jesus is buried in the tomb, and the Jewish leaders take steps to guard the tomb.

Jesus is now in the tomb and the disciples must believe that the story of their new faith is at its end, but it. Is at its beginning! The time between the crucification and Christ rising must have been a time of great fear and concern over what would happen next.

We can succumb to speculation and fear when God seems to be absent. But He says he will never leave us or forsake us and our faith should be strong enough to accept this promise as one of God’s greatest.

Reflect on: Times when you felt abandoned by God and what lead you to understand that He truly was there.
