The Hundredfold Path

Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. (Matthew 13:8 ESV)

My work life has been marked by how well my teams produce. I value building highly capable teams that can produce a lot in a short amount of time. However, this high bar can create a lot of stress. So, it is incumbent upon me, and my managers, to continually evaluate what we are capable of. Without this a team will falter under a heavy workload.

In my faith life I try to do a similar thing. Evaluating what I think I am capable of, but allowing God to “manage and evaluate” what He believes I am actually able producing. However, even so, I often let my own desires in life get in the way. As such, I may not be as productive as God desires.

It is in these times that I need to step back and ask God to correct my path and put me on the hundredfold path. These are the times when I need to slow down to go faster. I need to make better decisions around who is leading my charge and how I am doing from a faith and works standpoint. Not so that others might take notice of what I am doing, but so that I will be fulfilling God’s plan for my life. So I will producing at the level He expects.
