Fear of Failure

28 However, the people living in the land are strong, and the cities are large and fortified. We also saw the descendants of Anak there. (Numbers 13:28 CSB)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power,[a] love, and sound judgment. (2 Timothy 1:7 CSB)

In our first scripture we see one of the reasons the Israelites wandered in the desert for forty years. They feared and doubted God.

In our second verse we see how God expects us to response to doubts in life.

Fear of failure comes in many forms. Each of them has expected consequences, but quite often our expectations or our projected fears are far from real. We build something up in our minds and allow the enemy to run around rampant in our heads. And given no rein he will do so with abandon.

I am facing stepping into a new role in a few days. One that seems to have been fully orchestrated by God by all intents. It could be an unsure and fearful time, but I am giving myself and this new role fully to God. I do not believe He lead me here without a plan for fulfilling His purpose in my life. There are others in my life who are facing similar major life change and the one thing I can say to them “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and sound judgement.”

Read that last line again. This is what God is telling us He gives to us. So if God is for us, who can be against us! Stop listening to the enemy and the fears he puts in your head. Move forward with great expectations of what God has in store for your life. Do not doubt like the Israelites and sin against God’s plans.
