13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own, but he will speak whatever he hears. He will also declare to you what is to come. (John 16:13 CSB)
There is so much assailing us today around the topic of truth. This is scriptural as they tell us that in the latter days men will trade the truth for lies. The biggest problem I see is that no one wants to settle upon single truths about a matter. No, they all want there own interpretation of the truth.
But be sure, in most cases, there is typically only one truth. It is in the subtle variations where we get so very lost.
Scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit is sent to guide us into all the truth. In this, if we seek God’s truth, the Spirit will guide us to it. You can also check this truth against scripture as the Spirits guiding will not deviate from what scripture tells us. Scripture is a sure fact checker.
The biggest problem is that people do not want to seek either scriptural or Spiritual guidance to the truth. No, because the actual truth is often inconvenient. Thus, we trade the convenient truth for the truth the Spirit would lead us to. We are guided to one path, but because it is narrow and hard we choose the broad and easy (convenient) path.
It is when we seek God’s truth through the Spirit and scripture that the path to all truth is opened to us. This does not make us all knowing, simply all accepting of God’s guidance.
