14 For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under the law but under grace. (Romans 6:14 CSB)
Reread today’s scripture. It is not a question. It is an imperative. It is a bold statement of fact. There is no ambiguity in these words.
We cannot approach sin like it is a question. We must approach the law as a pointer to sin and then flee anything that would cause us to sin.
The problem with seeing sin as a question is in its subtlety.
We we ask ourselves anything that might lead us into sin, the answer the enemy will ever put before us is, Yes. You deserve this. You worked hard, so just let go for a little while.
Grace must be stronger in our lives than sin. The grace to say no and to step away. To answer the enemy with strong conviction that we will not be led subtlety to the slaughter.
Because we are under grace, sin has no power over us.
